Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD)
- Lively, spunky, dramatic, flirtatiou, function at a high level, success socially and professionally.
- Alternate between extremes of idealization and devaluation.
- Easily bored with low tolerance for frustration or delayed gratification

- P - Provocative, seductive, exhibitionist behavior (kissing strangers, dancing wildly, dating 5 or more)
- R - Relationships believed to be more intimate than they are ("Intimacy is through the roof")
- A - Attention, constant seekign, must be the center ("You're not paying attentoin to me.")
- I - Influenced easily, suggestibility by others or circumstances ("Competitive with others in a room")
- S - Speech (style), lacks genuine empathy or details, shallow ("those people are scum, I was top 5%")
- E - Emotional lability, sensitive to criticism or disapproval (angry, laughs or lashes out at the source)
- M - Make Up, Excessive concern ("Don't touch my face"), physical appearance used to draw attention
- E - Exagerated emotions, self-dramatization, theatrical ("He/she intellectually abuses me")
- Somatic, excessive worry about health, manufacture "pain" symptoms (garners attenion, manipulates)
- Rapidly shifting emotional states that appear superficial or exagerated to others
- Making rash decisions
- Childhood events which caused anxiety, deaths in immediate family, divorce of parents and genetics.
- More often diagnosed in women than in men.
