LAB Computer Usage
- I will not manipulate files on the local hard drive or on any network drives. I will create, delete, copy, change, and save
files to only my personal CD-RW disc(s). Rarely, a teacher may direct me to save to a specific network drive. - I will not make any changes to Windows, nor to any other platforms or programs I access at the school or on school
networks or connections. I will not change any desktop settings. - I will not load nor install any software, including games, on any computer at the ATC. We must abide by copyright law,
including software licensing agreements and restrictions. Therefore, I will use only the software licensed to ATC. - Although a variety of applications are available, 1 will use only the programs selected for use by my teacher or on the
particular machine I am using. I will not exit programs unless instructed to do so. - I will print only when I need the printout to turn in my assignment or as a step in research. Unless told to by my teacher, I
will not print any banners even though some software has that capability. I will not print multiple copies. - I will not go to the DOS prompt unless my teacher tells me to do so.
- I will handle all equipment carefully. Missing parts or misplaced plugs create problems for other students. Any tampering
with hardware, software, or peripheral devices will be considered vandalism and will be handled accordingly. - I will immediately notify the teacher in charge if I notice a malfunction in any computer, peripheral device, or software.
- 1 will use the Internet only with permission and under the direct supervision of my teacher. Further, I will use it only for
curriculum research and coursework projects assigned by my teacher. At school I will not surf or browse the Internet for
recreational purposes. - Some information on the Internet is available for anyone to use and some is copyrighted. Regardless, I will document
where and when I found the information. (Bibliographic format is available in the media center.) - I will not give out personal information - address, phone number, etc. - about myself or others. I will not visit chat rooms.
I will not use instant messaging services. I will not order merchandise. - Internet access at school is a privilege not a right I will not access inappropriate information or visit sites not related to my
class research.

I understand that the ATC has student access to the Internet and to other aspects of modem technology. In order to ensure that all ATC students may benefit form this technology, I agree to use the school's hardware and software only within the following guidelines:
I understand that technology use at the ATC is not an unqualified right but a privilege, which can be revoked. I further understand that violation of the Computer Usage Contract will result in consequences commensurate of the Student Code of Conduct
